In 2017, the Black Greek Success Initiative launched Black Greek Success Month. From January 1 to 31, we celebrated the achievements of Divine Nine fraternities and sororities (in addition to an entry about Sigma Pi Phi) and select notable members to create awareness about how these organizations have changed the complexion of leadership in America. Please enjoy the gallery of our 31 entries from 2017.
In 2018, Black Greek Success month will be dedicated to the servant leadership of Divine Nine organizations under the theme "Pledged to Service".
Of the Divine Nine fraternities and sororities, five were founded in January: Kappa Alpha Psi (5th), Phi Beta Sigma (9th), Delta Sigma Theta (13th), Alpha Kappa Alpha (15th), and Zeta Phi Beta (16th). January is also the month that we celebrate one of the most well-known Black Greeks, Martin Luther King Jr.; and it leads into Black History Month which was founded by another beloved Black Greek, Carter G. Woodson.
