WHY THE BLACK GREEK SUCCESS PROGRAM

Right now there are members of historically Black fraternal organizations (including those not designated by Greek letters) who are poised to become the leaders that society needs. They are community-focused, ethical, and they understand that being valued matters.

The Black Greek Success Program exists to further the servant leadership of these leaders so that they continue the work of those leaders who came before them. Whether these leaders are college students, early career professionals in alumni chapters or members of the community, BGSP is committed to being a vital part of their leadership journey. DIVINE 9 SOCIAL IMPACT TIMELINE

Editorial Notes:

Listed accomplishments

The Divine 9 Social Impact Timeline is attended to provide context about the impact of Black Greek life on society based on the accomplishments of the nine major historically Black fraternities and sororities and some notable members.

Inclusion of all historically Black fraternal and social impact organizations

While the Black Greek Success Program was originally geared toward Divine 9 fraternities and sororities, we recognize that Black America has benefited from the legacy and contributions of a wide variety of historically Black fraternal and social impact organizations and their members.

We honor and show appreciation for brothers and sisters such as the Prince Hall Masons, Sigma Pi Phi (the Boule), Groove Phi Groove, Swing Phi Swing, MALIK Fraternity, Malika Kambe Umfazi Sorority, and many more Black fraternal and social impact organizations. Collectively, we uplift Black America and people of the African diaspora.

A great resource to view the wide variety of Black fraternal and social impact organizations is BlackOrg.net.
